A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE

Under the NORTE-06-3559-FSE-000164 operation “Highly Qualified Employment in Companies or in COLABS – Hiring Highly Qualified Human Resources (SME or CoLAB)”, funded by the Northern Regional Operational Program (NORTE2020), Portugal2020 and the European Union, through the European Social Fund (ESF), the project A Look Into the Future was created.

   PRESENTATION

Look Into the Future visits secondary and vocational schools, carrying out training activities that help young people identify their academic path, develop a proactive and differentiating attitude in the job market, as well as developing other important tools, such as soft skills, so that they can position themselves appropriately in the career they want.

This project aims to empower young people so that they can build their life and career plans to their full potential, contributing to the active fight against school drop-outs. With this project, we aim to support the structure of schools (psychologists, head teachers, among others) in promoting the future of young people.

LECTURES/WORKSHOPS

Lectures/workshops given by professors or experts in the field. Available topics:

  • “Soft skills in the digital age, how they can set you apart” – Promoting among students the discovery of their personal skills (attitudinal and behavioral skills) and the recognition of their influence on the professions of the future. Several group dynamics will be used in particular (Discovering the Self and Legos Challenge)
  • “People Skills, People Happiness & Career Guidance” – In order to have a successful professional career, personal and social skills (soft/people skills) are just as important as technical ability. Therefore, this workshop aims to work on the students’ main people skills, the main factors for happiness in studies and at work, and also to explore career guidance strategies.
